On every card: ply rating or load range (for example 8PR, 10PR/LRE), then the load index and speed symbol stamped on the sidewall (for example 132/127L). Prices are per tire, in Canadian dollars.
No discount applies to trailer tires. Installation available at our shop. Sizes we handle outside our online inventory are confirmed when you place your order.
ST stands for Special Trailer. These tires are built to carry weight on an axle that neither steers nor drives: stiffer sidewalls, a heavier carcass and a lower maximum speed than a passenger (P) or light-truck (LT) tire of the same size. That stiffness is what limits trailer sway under load — it is not a sign that the tire is interchangeable with a car tire. Fitting a passenger tire on a trailer changes both the load capacity and the way the trailer tracks behind you.
Load range (B, C, D, E…) and the older ply rating (6PR, 8PR, 10PR) both describe how much air pressure the casing is built to hold, and therefore how much weight it can carry. A ply rating is a strength index, not a literal count of plies inside the tire. Match or exceed the load range on your trailer's certification label, and add up the ratings of all tires on the trailer before comparing them with the loaded weight.
Where a size reads 132/127L, 132 is the load index for a single-wheel fitment, 127 the load index for a dual fitment, and L the speed symbol. On trailer tires that symbol is often far below what a passenger tire allows, and exceeding it builds heat faster than the casing can shed it. Read the sidewall of the tire you are buying and stay under its rating.
A radial trailer tire runs cooler, tracks straighter and generally lasts longer on highway trips. A bias-ply tire has stiffer sidewalls and costs less, which suits short hauls, heavy static loads and utility trailers that spend more time parked than rolling. Do not mix constructions on the same axle.
Underinflation is the most common cause of trailer tire failure. Inflate cold to the pressure marked on the sidewall, and check it before every trip — a trailer gives you no feedback through the steering wheel when a tire is going soft. Have the beads seated and the assembly balanced by a technician. Trailer tires also age out before they wear out: check the DOT date code and plan on replacement after a few seasons, even on a tire that still looks new.
Every size above is listed as it appears on the sidewall. If your size is not in the list, or you are unsure which load range your trailer needs, call us with the size and the loaded weight and we will confirm what fits.Contact us
