1. Scope and accountability

This policy explains how Liqui Pneus collects, uses, discloses, stores and protects personal information when you visit liquipneus.com, create an account, place an order, request delivery or installation, book an appointment, submit a form or communicate with us.

Management of Liqui Pneus acts as the person in charge of the protection of personal information. The contact information for privacy questions and requests appears at the end of this policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide the requested products and services, operate the website, meet our legal obligations and protect our customers and systems.

• identity and contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address;
• order, cart, product, vehicle, delivery, installation, return and warranty information;
• customer-account information and the communications you send to us;
• transaction references and payment status, but not the complete card number entered in Clover-hosted fields;
• technical and security information, such as IP address, browser, device, consent choices, logs and events used to prevent abuse;
• analytics or location-service information only when the applicable consent has been given.

3. Why we use the information

We use personal information to answer requests, manage accounts, validate product compatibility, process and deliver orders, arrange installation, book appointments, issue confirmations and invoices, handle returns or warranties, prevent fraud, secure the platform, meet accounting and legal requirements and improve the service.

Marketing communications are sent only where permitted and with consent when required. You may unsubscribe at any time.

4. Payments: Clover and PayPal

The payment methods currently integrated into the website are Clover for card payments and PayPal, including an eligible PayPal Pay in 4 option when PayPal offers it. Liqui Pneus receives the payment result, a transaction reference and the information needed to manage the order, refund or dispute.

Card fields are hosted and tokenized by Clover. Liqui Pneus does not store the full card number, expiry date or security code in its systems. PayPal collects and processes the information required for the PayPal service under its own policy and terms.

5. Installation appointments and GEM-CAR

When you request installation or another garage service, the information necessary to create or manage the service file and appointment may be sent to GEM-CAR. This may include your name, contact information, vehicle, selected service, order reference and appointment time.

6. Cookies, local storage, analytics and maps

Essential cookies or browser storage support the cart, account, security and consent preferences. The website currently uses Google Analytics 4 for audience measurement only after consent to Analytics, Google Maps/Places only after consent to External Services or a direct activation by the visitor, and Meta Pixel only after consent to Marketing.

Optional analytics, location or profiling technologies are not loaded by default. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie-preferences interface and consult the current cookie inventory in our Cookie Policy.

7. Current technology and provider inventory

The current storefront is built with Astro. Its active customer-facing integrations include Clover, PayPal, GEM-CAR, Google Analytics 4, Google Maps/Places and Meta Pixel, together with hosting, security, delivery, supplier, CRM and transactional-email services required to operate the business.

Meta Pixel measures advertising visits and conversions and may help create audiences for Facebook and Instagram, but loads only after Marketing consent. Liqui Pneus does not enable advanced matching and does not send form values, email addresses, telephone numbers or payment data through this browser integration. WordPress, WooCommerce, Flexiti, TikTok pixels and Mailchimp are not active on the website.

8. When information is disclosed

Liqui Pneus does not sell personal information. We disclose only the information necessary to authorized service providers or partners that help us process payments, book services, deliver orders, operate and secure the website, send transactional messages, provide customer service, manage warranties or comply with the law.

Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers, insurers, tax authorities, law-enforcement or courts when authorized or required by law.

9. Transfers outside Québec

Some providers, including Google, Clover and PayPal, may process or host information outside Québec or Canada. Before communicating personal information outside Québec, Liqui Pneus applies the privacy-impact assessment and contractual safeguards required by applicable Québec law and proceeds only where adequate protection can be provided.

10. Consent and your choices

Consent is requested in clear and separate language where required. You may refuse optional technologies and may withdraw consent for future use, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

Withdrawing consent may prevent us from providing a service that genuinely requires the information, such as delivering an order, processing payment or booking an installation.

11. Retention and secure destruction

Personal information is retained only for as long as needed for the identified purpose and for applicable accounting, tax, warranty, fraud-prevention, dispute and legal requirements. Retention periods vary by record category and are managed under our retention schedule.

When information is no longer required, it is securely destroyed or irreversibly anonymized in accordance with applicable law.

12. Security and confidentiality incidents

Liqui Pneus applies reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and purpose of the information, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, logging, monitoring, backups and restricted provider access.

No system is completely risk-free. Suspected confidentiality incidents are assessed, documented in the incident register and reported to affected persons and the Commission d'accès à l'information when the legal risk threshold is met.

13. Access, correction, deletion and complaints

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask questions about its use or disclosure, withdraw certain consents, request deletion where applicable, or file a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Where the legal conditions are met, you may also request that computerized personal information collected from you be provided in a structured, commonly used technological format or transmitted to an authorized person or organization. You may request that dissemination cease or that a hyperlink associated with your name be de-indexed in the circumstances provided by law.

14. Information concerning children

The online store is not directed to children under 14. Liqui Pneus does not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 14 without the consent of the holder of parental authority or guardian, unless the collection is clearly for the child's benefit as permitted by law.

15. Automated tools and profiling

The website may automate product suggestions, compatibility assistance, fraud signals and aggregate analytics. Liqui Pneus does not currently make a decision producing legal or similarly significant effects about a customer solely through automated processing. If that practice changes, the required notice, explanation and rights will be provided.

16. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices, providers, website features or legal obligations change. The current version and update date are published on this page. A new consent will be requested when required for a material new purpose.
