DS's electric and hybrid range is marketed under the E-Tense signature, which has become the central axis of the brand's strategy. It covers both fully electric versions (such as the DS3 E-Tense, a battery-powered urban crossover) and plug-in hybrids on the SUVs and sedans (DS7, DS9, DS N°4). DS targets urban buyers concerned with reducing their emissions while keeping the brand's French comfort and style. The most recent models adopt the STLA Medium platform to gain range. In Quebec, these electrified vehicles benefit from incentives and charging stations, but the absence of an official DS network in North America remains a real obstacle. On the tire side, the electric versions, heavier because of the batteries, require tires suited to the load and, in winter, approved studded snow tires for safety.
