Vehicle model
ARO Gamme ARO - véhicules particuliers
ARO remained above all a maker of off-roaders; the notion of a passenger vehicle applies mainly to the most civilized versions of its 4x4s, notably certain Series 24 variants (5 doors, more seats, hard top) and the more compact Series 10, intended for road and family use in addition to adventure. The most emblematic upmarket project was the Cross Lander 244X, a "luxury" version of the ARO 244 considered for the American market in the early 2000s, but never really marketed. Lacking comfort and modern equipment, ARO never truly broke through in the passenger-car segment. As for tires, these versions keep the off-road or mixed fitments with tall sidewalls from the original chassis on steel wheels; in Quebec, the winter tire remains mandatory and strongly recommended for the safety of these older vehicles.

Technology
Technologies, engines and platforms
Same technical basis as ARO's utility vehicles: ladder frame, rigid axles and selectable 4x4. More habitable 5-door versions, manual gearboxes, gasoline or diesel powertrains under license or in-house. The Cross Lander 244X planned a Ford gasoline V6, without reaching commercial success.
Tires and wheels
Tire and wheel compatibility
