History

History of the Chrysler 300

The Chrysler 300 is a large full-size sedan, launched in its modern form in 2004 (LX-platform generation). Known for its imposing style and prominent grille, it stood out for a rear-wheel-drive architecture rare in its category and for the availability of HEMI V8 engines highly appreciated by enthusiasts. Two main generations succeeded one another until the model's withdrawal after a career of about eighteen years, capped by a special edition with a 6.4-liter V8. The 300 targeted customers seeking presence, road comfort and performance, in rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive form. For tires and wheels, it uses a 5x115 mm bolt pattern, with fitments from 17 to 20 inches depending on the trim; the sporty versions received wider Z-rated tires. In Quebec, the rear-wheel drive makes quality winter tires indispensable, and a winter setup in 17 or 18 inches is recommended for the cold season.
