The GWM Tank 300 is a mid-size off-road SUV produced since 2020, recognizable by its boxy neo-retro styling. It uses a ladder frame (shared with the GWM pickup platform), a solid rear axle and part-time four-wheel drive with low range and differential lockers, making it a true off-roader pitted against the Jeep Wrangler or the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. It offers good ground clearance and generous approach and departure angles, as well as a tight-turn ("tank turn") function. The Tank 300 earned five stars from ANCAP. In Quebec, its winter and off-road capabilities benefit from being complemented by winter tires suited to off-road use; this type of 4x4 uses good-diameter wheels and tall, robust-sidewall tires.
