The Polestar 2 is the brand's first mass-market fully electric car, launched in 2020. It is a compact fastback sedan (between a sedan and a hatchback) in the premium segment, a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3. Offered in a single-motor (rear-wheel drive) or dual-motor (all-wheel drive) version, it targets an urban and professional clientele drawn to its Scandinavian design and Google interface. As Polestar's volume model, it has seen several battery and powertrain updates. Its battery, housed in the floor, lowers the center of gravity. In Quebec, its 19- to 21-inch wheels (5x108 bolt pattern) call for properly sized winter tires; a 19-inch winter setup improves comfort and range in extreme cold.

Les Polestar chaussent des jantes de grand diamètre, typiquement de 19 à 22 pouces, avec un entraxe (bolt pattern) de 5x108, partagé avec plusieurs Volvo et Ford européennes, ce qui élargit le choix de jantes compatibles. Les berlines (Polestar 2) montent souvent du 245 de largeur, tandis que les SUV (Polestar 3, 4) recourent à des montes plus larges et parfois étagées (avant/arrière différents). Au Québec, les pneus d'hiver sont obligatoires : pour ces VE lourds et puissants, des pneus hiver homologués au bon indice de charge et de vitesse sont essentiels, idéalement montés sur un second train de jantes en diamètre légèrement réduit pour le confort et l'autonomie.
