Vehicle model

Porsche Boxster

The Boxster, launched in 1996-1997, is Porsche's mid-engined roadster, more accessible than the 911 while sharing its DNA. A two-seat convertible, it has gone through several generations (986, 987, 981 and the current 982, marketed under the 718 Boxster name). Its mid-engine architecture gives it a balance and agility praised by the press. It targets open-top driving enthusiasts seeking a sharp chassis at a price below the 911. An electric 718 Boxster version is expected. Tire/wheel note: staggered 18- to 20-inch fitments, 5x130 bolt pattern, "N" tires. A convertible poorly suited to Quebec winters; summer use is preferred.

Technology

Technologies, engines and platforms

A mid-mounted flat engine: a 2.0 and 2.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer on the 718 versions, and a naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer on the GTS 4.0 and Spyder versions. A PDK dual-clutch or manual transmission, rear-wheel drive.

Tires and wheels

Tire and wheel compatibility
