Renault 4L
The Renault 4, nicknamed the 4L and "Quatrelle," is an economy car produced from 1961 to 1994. Versatile, rugged and inexpensive, it came in hatchback and panel-van versions and served equally well in the city and the countryside. Nicknamed the "blue-jeans car," it targeted a very broad audience thanks to its simplicity and low maintenance cost. With more than eight million units produced in many countries, it ranks among the most-built cars in the world and was for a long time France's sales champion. Now sought after by collectors, the 4L rides on small wheels and narrow period tires. In Quebec, it is regarded as a vintage leisure car; for summer use, classic tires in the original size are preferred over winter use.

Les Renault sont majoritairement des citadines et compactes européennes (Clio, Mégane, Kangoo, Zoe), généralement chaussées de jantes de 15 à 17 pouces, parfois 18 à 19 pouces sur les versions électriques ou sportives. Les entraxes courants chez Renault sont de type 4 trous sur les plus petits modèles et 5 trous sur les compactes et électriques récentes. Comme ces véhicules ne sont pas distribués officiellement au Québec, vérifiez toujours la dimension exacte inscrite sur le flanc du pneu et sur la jante d'origine. Au Québec, les pneus d'hiver sont obligatoires et essentiels: privilégiez des pneus hiver homologués dans la bonne dimension, idéalement montés sur un second jeu de jantes adaptées à l'entraxe et au déport du véhicule.
