Vehicle model
Nio ES8
The ES8 is Nio's large flagship SUV, the brand's first production model, launched in 2018. A full-size vehicle over five meters long with an aluminum body, it offers three rows of seats (six- or seven-seat configurations) and targets a high-end family clientele. It symbolizes Nio's entry into volume production and the demonstration of its battery-swap technology. Offered in several generations and battery capacities, it is marketed in China and exported to Europe (under the name EL8), but not in North America. Its imposing size and high weight call for large wheels and robust tires; in Quebec, mountain-snowflake-rated winter tires would be essential to ensure traction and braking for this heavy, high-torque SUV.
