Vehicle model
Tesla Roadster
The Roadster holds a foundational place at Tesla. The first generation (2008-2012), built on a chassis derived from the Lotus Elise but heavily modified, was the first production electric car certified to exceed 320 km of range; about 2,450 units were sold and proved the viability of high-performance electric cars. A second generation, announced as a supercar with extreme performance and very long range, is expected. The Roadster is aimed at performance enthusiasts and fans of cutting-edge technology. On the tire and wheel side, such a sports car requires high-speed-rated performance tires mounted on large wheels; in Quebec, winter use of such a vehicle remains marginal and requires suitable specialized tires.
