Togg

Togg, an acronym for Türkiye'nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu ("Turkey's Automobile Joint Venture Group"), is a Turkish automaker founded in 2018 and specializing in fully electric vehicles. The brand was born from a joint venture bringing together five major Turkish groups — Anadolu Group, BMC, the Kök Group, telecom operator Turkcell, and Zorlu Holding, each holding 19% — joined by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) with 5%. The project, supported by the Turkish state, aims to give the country its first large-scale national automotive brand in the electric era. The company's head office is located in Gebze, in the province of Kocaeli. Togg inaugurated its assembly plant in Gemlik, in the province of Bursa, in 2022, and launched series production of its first model there the same year. That first vehicle, the T10X, is a 100% electric crossover SUV whose design was entrusted to Turkish designer Murat Günak and the Italian firm Pininfarina. The first deliveries to Turkish customers began in March 2023, quickly making Togg a leading player in its domestic market, where it took the top spot in electric vehicle sales. The brand then unveiled its second model, the T10F fastback sedan, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January 2024; the T10F is the second in a roadmap calling for five models by 2030. Internationally, Togg entered Europe in 2025: a presentation at the IAA Mobility show in Munich in September 2025, the opening of pre-orders, and first deliveries in Germany, where its European center is based in Stuttgart. An expansion strategy targeting France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Scandinavia is announced for 2026. By contrast, Togg has no commercial presence in North America to date: the brand is not distributed in Canada or the United States, where a possible arrival is only mentioned beyond 2027.

Technologies

Technologies, innovations and platforms

Togg designs exclusively 100% battery-electric vehicles built on a dedicated electric-vehicle platform. The T10X is offered with a rear-axle motor (rear-wheel drive, RWD) of about 160 kW, or with dual front and rear motors (all-wheel drive, AWD) of about 320 kW. Two lithium-ion batteries are available, of 52.4 kWh and 88.5 kWh, for advertised ranges of roughly 314 to 523 km depending on the model. On the onboard-technology side, Togg emphasizes connectivity (one of its shareholders is the operator Turkcell), with large digital displays and an ecosystem of connected services. In terms of safety, the T10X and T10F earned the maximum five-star rating in Euro NCAP testing. A group subsidiary, Siro, manufactures the lithium-ion cells and batteries near the Gemlik plant.

Identity, reputation, strengths and weaknesses

Positioning

A national Turkish automaker of 100% electric SUVs and sedans, accessible premium, in full European expansion but absent from North America.

Reputation

A recent brand, Togg enjoys strong recognition in Turkey and leads electric vehicle sales there, driven by its status as the country's first national automaker and by public support. The T10X and T10F gain added credibility thanks to their five-star Euro NCAP ratings. Internationally, its reputation has yet to be built: in Germany, its late-2025 commercial debut was modest, held back by the absence of an established dealer network, uncertainties about after-sales service and resale value, as well as buyer caution toward a new brand. There is too little track record to judge long-term reliability or residual value.

Strengths

Togg combines a modern fully electric platform, refined design by Pininfarina and Murat Günak, and strong safety ratings (five-star Euro NCAP). The brand bets on advanced connectivity, batteries produced in-house by its Siro subsidiary, and competitive ranges. Its Turkish national roots and the backing of a solid industrial consortium give it substantial resources.

Points to watch

Togg is a very young automaker whose reliability history and resale value have yet to be proven. Its sales and service network is embryonic outside Turkey, and its European debut was slow. Above all, the brand is entirely absent from North America: no distribution, no dealers, and no after-sales service in Canada, which complicates access to parts and support.

Production and compatibility

Plants, tires and wheels

Production

Togg builds its vehicles at a single plant, the Gemlik industrial complex in the province of Bursa, Turkey, inaugurated in 2022. The site assembles the T10X and T10F models and houses the nearby Siro subsidiary, which manufactures the lithium-ion batteries. Togg plans to increase its capacity, with an annual production target cited at around 60,000 vehicles. The automaker operates no plant in North America and neither assembles nor distributes vehicles there. The cars are built in Turkey and exported to the targeted European markets; no local production is planned in Canada or the United States.

Tires and wheels

Because Togg is not distributed in Quebec, its vehicles are rare here, but they are modern electric SUVs and sedans with common dimensions. The T10X typically comes with 17-, 18-, or 19-inch wheels, with fitments such as 225/65R17, 225/60R18, or 235/50R19, and an offset of about ET45. These sizes correspond to widely available tires. Electric SUVs and sedans are heavy and demanding in terms of traction: in Quebec, quality winter tires are essential and mandatory, ideally mounted on a second set of wheels to make seasonal changeovers easier. Always check the exact size, bolt pattern, and load index marked on the vehicle.
