Wuling Hongguang Mini EV
The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is a fully electric micro-city car launched in July 2020, which became a phenomenon: the best-selling electric car in China and one of the best-selling in the world, with more than one and a half million units sold. Its main asset is an extremely low starting price (a few thousand dollars), which made it the symbol of mass electric mobility. Small (about 3 meters), it seats up to four occupants and is designed for short urban trips, easy parking and low running costs. Several generations and variants followed, including four-door and extended-range versions. It is not marketed in North America. As for tires, it fits very small wheels (often 12 to 14 inches) and narrow tires suited to low urban speeds; in Quebec, such a vehicle would nonetheless have to be equipped with approved winter tires during the cold season.

The Mini EV is a rear-wheel-drive electric car with a small motor (around 20 kW) and low-capacity batteries optimized for the city, with limited range (on the order of a hundred kilometers) and a top speed capped at around 100 km/h.

Tire and wheel compatibility
Les Wuling couvrent des formats très variés. Les citadines électriques comme la Mini EV chaussent de toutes petites roues (souvent des jantes de 12 à 14 pouces) avec des pneus étroits adaptés à l'usage urbain à basse vitesse. Les SUV et MPV (Almaz, Hongguang, Alvez) montent généralement des jantes plus grandes, typiquement de 15 à 17 pouces, avec des montes plus larges. Les entraxes (bolt patterns) suivent les standards asiatiques courants à 4 ou 5 trous selon le segment. Comme ces véhicules ne sont pas vendus au Québec, vérifiez toujours la dimension exacte inscrite sur le flanc du pneu d'origine et la plaque du véhicule. Au Québec, des pneus d'hiver homologués restent obligatoires de décembre à mars pour toute auto en circulation.
