SSR Wheels Wheel model
SSR Wheels MK-I
The MK-I is SSR's founding wheel: produced from 1971 onward, it is widely recognized as the world's first three-piece aluminum wheel. Its clean, spokeless design (deep lip, deep dish) left its mark on the history of the Japanese wheel and won over tuners, especially in ultra-wide-lip specifications. A heritage piece par excellence, it was the subject of a 2022 reissue limited to 600 units (150 sets), in 14 inch, widths from 8.5J to 12.0J, 4- or 5-lug bolt patterns in 100/110/114.3, and offsets from -6 to -50. Target audience: restoration and the nostalgic scene (kyusha, vintage JDM), with the small diameters typical of period vehicles. In Quebec, its appeal is above all for collection and show; the small diameters and specific bolt patterns limit daily use, and a wheel of this value is not meant to face winter road salt.
