Citroën 2CV
The Citroën 2CV is an iconic economy car unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1948 and produced until 1990, with more than nine million units built (sedans and vans combined). Designed before the war to motorize rural France, it aimed for simplicity, robustness, low fuel consumption and minimal maintenance costs. Affectionately nicknamed the "deuche" or "deux pattes," it became a popular cultural symbol in Europe, valued for its roll-back canvas roof, its supple suspension and its utilitarian character. The 2CV remains today a highly sought-after collector's vehicle. It belongs to a segment of economy city cars that has now disappeared from Citroën's lineup. For a collector's example driven in Quebec, compliance with Quebec's winter tire regulations applies, and the small original wheel diameters require finding tires in suitable and specific sizes, which are often rare.
